Singer Gavin James has called out a fake online account pretending to be him.

The star, who recently announced three Irish gigs as part of his Eurpoean tour, took to social media to warn fans of the fake account that had been asking people for money.

The star shared a picture from the account in question, and urged fans to verify his account details before falling victim to any scams!

Gavin recently opened up about his relationship with girlfriend Stefania, and how she had no idea he was a famous singer when they met.

I met her on my sister’s couch, I was sofa surfing,” he revealed.

And Gavin explains that he never quite explained what his job was.

“She’s a lovely girl, I just didn’t really explain what I was doing, music wise. I just said I really love playing music and that sort of stuff.”

It was only when they were out at a gig and he was being recognised by people that she started to ask questions.

“She came over to see Bruce Springsteen in Dublin and everyone was like ‘alright Gav!’ ‘Hiya Gavin, picture?’ and she was like ‘Gavin what is going on?’”

“She’s Greek so she kind of sounds like [Gloria] from Modern Family, she was like ‘Gavin, what do you do this for, what is going on?’…she’s amazing,” he told the Six O’Clock show.
