It’s that time of year again.

The Rose of Tralee festival has kicked off this weekend with the televised portion taking place on Monday and Tuesday on RTÉ.

A total of 32 Roses will represent counties in Ireland as well as the diaspora across the globe.

And the favourites to be crowned the Rose of Tralee have already come out.

Kerry Rose: Emer Dineen

Betway has tipped Kerry’s Emer Dineen and Derry’s Darcy Taylor as the joint favourites to win this year’s Rose of Tralee.

Emer is a 23-year-old paediatric radiographer from West Kerry has a love of working with children and has recently begun learning Irish Sign Language.

Derry Rose Darcy Taylor, 25, could make history as Derry’s first ever Rose. Darcy is no stranger to television with a Masters in Broadcast Media and Production on her CV and experience working for BBC Radio Foyle.

Chad Yeomans, spokesperson for Betway, said: “Our traders can’t split the Roses’ from Kerry and Derry, and we make both 5/2 to follow New York Rose Roísín Wiley onto the winners’ roster in this year’s competition.”
