In the July edition of VIP Magazine, out in shops tomorrow, we have an exclusive six-page photoshoot with rugby legend Tommy Bowe back in his native Co. Monaghan.
We met the handsome winger in Castle Leslie – where Tommy used to attend pony camp as a boy – and got a sneak peak at the latest collection for his successful clothes line XV Kings, as well as his shoes for Lloyd & Pryce.
Later, in his interview with VIP, the 32-year-old opened up to us about his former Miss Wales wife Lucy Whitehouse (or ‘Luce’ as he refers to her as!), who he recently celebrated a one-year anniversary with.
“It’s been great, and it’s flown by!” he said when we asked how married life is treating him.
“The fact I haven’t been playing means I’ve been around a lot which is brilliant for us. When we came back from the wedding and honeymoon, I had to go straight to the World Cup for 16 weeks! So to be back living with each other and spending time together is lovely.”
And when it comes to starting a family, where does Tommy stand? “A family is definitely on both of our minds, but we’re really not in a huge rush,” he admitted.
“We said we’d enjoy married life, we want to do stuff while we can because when we make the decision to have kids, we’ll have to pare back on holidays and things like that. But yes, I’d be delighted to be a dad one day, it’s something we would both enjoy.”
Make sure to grab your copy of VIP tomorrow for the stunning pictures and interview, which also sees Tommy discuss becoming an entrepreneur, banter in the rugby dressing rooms and the frustrations of missing the South Africa tour due to injury.
