Erica-Cody’s professional dance partner Denys Samson will not be joining her on the dancefloor this week after testing positive for Covid-19.
Sharing the news on Instagram the Dublin native wrote, “Unfortunately, I’m devastated to say that @denys_samson can no longer join me on the dance floor this weekend after testing positive for covid. This dance means a great deal to us, so thankfully since I’ve tested negative the show must & can still go on.”
The singer revealed another professional will be able to stand in for Denys so that she can perform their routine, “As much as I’ll miss him this week, I’m SO grateful to @ervinas_m and I can’t thank him enough for stepping up to the plate with such short notice! This one’s for you @denys_samson I hope I can do you proud, & I know you’ll make a speedy recovery being the powerhouse you are. Week 9! See you Sunday xx”
We hope Denys recovers soon but are delighted to hear we will still see Erica perform on Sunday night!
Earlier this week, the singer shared some kind words about her partner Denys, who is from Ukraine and praised his resilience amid conflict in his home country.
Posting a sweet picture to her story, Erica-Cody wrote, “The way you have been able to power through this week given everything that’s going on I take my hat off to you @denysamson and I am so beyond proud of you. I‘ve got you always , let’s go partner!
“Also massive thank you to everyone who reached out to send their love to denys this week, you’ve no idea how much it means to him.”
Throughout this season so far, Erica and Denys have been one of the highest scoring couples, although they found themselves in the bottom two last week, we’ve no doubt they will be back with a bang on tonight’s show.
We are sending love and support to Denys at this time.
