Eamonn Holmes shared the sad news that his mother had passed away over the weekend.
He was inundated with comforting messages from his followers on Instagram after posting a tribute to his mother Josie.
He took to social media to thank those who had shared their support for him during this difficult time.
“To all of you who cared and sent so many messages of condolences re My Mum..I am genuinely humbled and overwhelmed. U have been a great comfort,” he wrote along with a picture of himself and his mam.

His comment section was once again full of messages from friends and followers sending their condolences, Dermot O’Leary wrote: “Sending love and condolences. Candles lit.”
“Dearest Eamon….nothing alive is like a love from your mother. May she sleep well in heaven-being your never ending light. Love to you and Ruth and all the family GOD BLESS xxx,” Lisa Jane Riley wrote.
Over the weekend, Eamonn shared the news, writing: “My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon. She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation.
“We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye. Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x”
