Karen Byrne is ready to get back on the dancefloor.

The professional dancer is counting down the days until Dancing with the Stars returns.

Speaking to VIP Magazine for our December issue, she tells us: “I can’t believe we’re going into season seven. I still remember season one like it was yesterday.”

She jokingly adds: “I was more shocked that they asked me back again, I thought they’d have gotten rid of me by now!”

Rehearsal begins before Christmas, so it’s safe to say that the live shows are the top of her priority list.

“There’s a great buzz in the studio. There’s a massive excitement as we lead up to the live shows. It’s stressful, but as soon as it’s over, you miss it.”

Karen is not only eager to get back on the floor, she’s eager to lift the Glitterball Trophy again this year.

“I won in season two and it’s my time to take the trophy back! I’m competitive every year, no matter who they give me to dance with. I’d love to win it this year though, but the main thing is enjoying it,” she is quick to add.

DWTS isn’t just her job, it also led her to her partner, Jake Carter.

He jokingly tells us that he thinks the people behind the scenes are “fed up” of him as he is there so often!

“I’m there most weeks and keep hounding Larry Bass [of ShinAwil production company] to do an All-Stars season so maybe next year! It is nice though. You get to know the camera crew, producers, everyone behind the scenes.”

Okay, a DWTS: All-Stars? We’d love to see it!
