Donal Skehan has shared an emotional post on social media, as his little family prepares to be reunited.
The chef and his wife Sofie recently moved to Los Angeles for work commitments, and were forced to leave behind their beloved dog Max.
Donal’s dad has been taking great care of the pooch during the couple’s transition to the states, and while the Eat.Live.Go author is excited to have Max back, he understands it’s going to be difficult for his dad Dermot.
On Instagram Donal shared this sweet snap, and alongside it wrote, “It’s the middle of the night in LA but just got word that #MaxSkehan is on his way! For the last year while we’ve been all over the place and in and out of Airbnb’s, his one constant has been my dad who has taken him for walks every single day we haven’t, come rain or shine!
“The two of them have such a strong bond and I know he’s going to be a little heartbroken this morning so I want to send him and my Mam lots of love and say thanks for taking care of our little fur baby while we figured out our next steps and tell them not to worry, he’ll be well looked after in his new home for now… Have no idea how I’m going to go back to sleep now!”
