The stars of the Irish version of Strictly Come Dancing will be left disappointed following a new revelation about the show today.

It has been revealed that the Irish stars of the show are expected to be paid a lot less than their UK peers.

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the Irish version of the show, with a host of famous faces expected to take part including; Roz Purcell, Pippa O’Connor, Nicky Byrne and Daniel O’Donnell.

However, a source has told the Herald that stars will not be paid as well as the stars in the U.K.

“There will be a fee because celebs are giving up so much of their time, but we don’t know what that will be yet because it’s literally just gone into production.

“The figures will be significantly less than what they get in the UK but we will have to compensate the celebs for their time and effort.”

The insider went on to explain that the Irish show won’t have the same level of pay as the English show because it just doesn’t have the money.

They said, “I would imagine it won’t even nearly match the minimum UK fee. It has not yet been decided if the stars who are brought on board will be paid a flat fee or if there will be cash incentive to stay until the final stages.

“We wouldn’t have the same budget as the UK.”
