Derry Girls stars Jamie Lee O’Donnell and Saoirse Monica Jackson have reunited for their latest project, which saw the girls getting to explore Romania during a “trip of a lifetime.”
The girls took part in Dave’s reboot of World’s Most Dangerous Roads, the hit series which sees two celebs take on some of the world’s most treacherous roadways. The series originally aired on BBC Two from 2011 – 2013, but has now been revived for modern audiences.
The Derry Girls had an absolutely loved their visit with Jamie Lee sharing snaps from their stay, and gushing: “Trip of a lifetime!”
While the girls might have enjoyed their trip, that doesn’t mean it was an easy one, as they were still travelling along one of the world’s most dangerous roads.
Beginning their Romania adventure Jamie Lee got behind the wheel, but found the Romania driving system quite a challenge. Herself and Saoirse hilariously traveled along the wrong side of the road, after half of the road was blocked by parked cars and got muddle in a roundup during their spin around the roads.
“So we’re just driving on the wrong side of the road now, is that right?” Jamie Lee asked her passenger.
With Saoirse replying: “Yep, Jesus you’re wild close on this side!”
“I know, but the cars are right there,” Jamie Lee explained.

The girls also had to take on drivers with Jamie Lee saying: “He is in the middle of the road now come on!”
“Get, get over!” she told the car as it drove past.
The roundabouts also proved difficult with the girls missing their exit. As Saoirse advised: “Watch this, watch the right hand side!” after they nearly drove into oncoming traffic.
With Jamie Lee exclaiming: “F**k the right hand side, we nearly died!”
Despite the struggle, Jamie Lee and Saoirse made it through and got to enjoy their time in Romania.
