Is there anything better than a gripping drama?
A gripping drama with some Irish faces in it!
Disney+ has just revealed its latest series, Playdate, which is full of Irish stars.
Denise Gough who has appeared in Under the Banner of Heaven and Bronagh Waugh who is best known for her role in The Fall as well as playing James’ mam in Derry Girls, will both star in the new show.
The five-part series is based on Alex Dahl’s best-selling novel of the same name.
So what can we expect of the show?
Well, the synopsis simply reads: “Elisa’s world is turned upside down when her young daughter Lucia is kidnapped at a sleepover. Who is the mystery woman who took Lucia, and what secrets does she know about Elisa?”
It’s not known who Denise and Bronagh are playing just yet, but they’re not alone on screen.
They will be joined by English actor Holliday Grainger, who appeared in films like the live-action Cinderella and Jane Eyre, This Is Going To Hurt star Ambika Mod, One Day actor Jim Sturgess and Michael Workeye who appeared in My Lady Jane.
A release date has yet to be announced but production is underway on the show in the UK. So we’ll keep our eyes peeled!
