Dayl Cronin and Aidan O’Mahony have the ultimate bromance. Having lived together while competing on Dancing With The Stars, the pair have become extremely close, with Aidan even admitting that Dayl prepared him for fatherhood.
However, the pair hit an awkward road block in their friendship when first-time dad Aidan failed to fill his close pal in on a fairly significant detail, leaving Dayl very blue indeed…
Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine the 23-year-old said, “I had been asking him all along ‘Do you know what it is?’ And he said ‘yeah.’ I asked him what name do you have picked, and they were all boys names.
“I thought it was a boy, so on the Wednesday before he had the child I went off and bought him baby clothes – a load of boys clothes. He was delighted, but I hadn’t a clue. The next day he puts up on social media that he was delighted their little angel has joined us, and I was like, oh you should have told me some girls’ names at least!
“I bought all blue! Blue jacket, chinos, t-shirts… I totally kitted out the young fella and he tells me it was a girl! I was raging. I was so raging.”
Despite the mix up however, Aidan was touched by the gesture, and knew his heart was in the right place.
“We knew, but we decided to keep it to ourselves. On the Wednesday evening he had a bag of clothes hidden behind the couch. It was a lovely gesture- fair play to him,” Aidan said.
