Darren Kennedy has only recently launched his fourth menswear collection, but admits that he’s not interested in leaving behind his TV and radio career.
The Irish stylist spoke to The Herald and said that while he’s extremely passionate about design, style and all things fashion, he doesn’t want them to be the main aspect of his job.
“My mainstay is broadcasting, and everything else, whether it’s writing about style or designing, is just another part of my world. I love designing – in fact, I probably love it because it’s not my full-time gig. It always feel very fresh and exciting when it’s not something you do every day, and I love learning new things,” he said.
Darren has gone from strength to strength in the broadcasting world, having already been given a chance to work in America for E!, one of the countries largest TV networks, as well as regularly featuring on ITV’s breakfast show, This Morning. However featuring on these shows aren’t enough for the determined Dubliner, who hopes to one day have his own weekend show.
“There are loads of things that I want to do, but I suppose Rome wasn’t built in a day. I’d love to work more in the States and maybe do more Saturday night entertainment,” he said.\
