Daniel O’ Donnell has admitted there’s been some light hearted flirting with his Strictly dance partner Kristina Rihanoff.
There were some eyebrows raised when the singer was paired with the ‘Siberian Siren’ – but Daniel insists any ‘flanter’ between the pair is all done in jest.
He joked: “We were rehearsing one day and Kristina said to me, I’m a flower’ and I said, ‘Well if your a flower, I’m the weed standing beside you.’ You have a good laugh at the whole thing.”
Meanwhile, Daniel is grateful for the support he has received from the fans of the show so far but has admitted he hopes he doesn’t “do something terrible” on his first night.
He said: “The support that people are giving me, especially from home, I’m getting a lot of good wishes, so I’d just like to say, ‘Thanks a million.’
The Donegal crooner went on to say that he doesn’t regret putting his best foot forward for the Strictly competition and he reminds himself: “You’re not a dancer, you’re somebody who is lucky to have got the opportunity to do this, enjoy it, learn as much as you can, and treat it in that fashion.” Wise words Daniel!
He seems to be taking the reality show extremely seriously, even if he is having fun, and revealed that he wakes up in the middle of the night and practices the dance steps he’s been learning with Kristina the previous day,
“You’re going pretty much all the time,” he admitted.
Despite the stress, Daniel is quickly making friends on the hit show. Apparently, the 53-year-old and Australian singer Peter Andre have really hit it off while behind the scenes at Strictly Come Dancing and have become BFFs. That’s what we like to hear!
Daniel has revealed that he has been bonding with the reality star on the BBC show, as well as athlete Iwan Thomas.
