Colin Farrell is absolutely smashing it this award season and we’re seriously delighted for him.
Over the weekend, the actor picked up the award for Best Male Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie for The Penguin during the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
These awards are actually voted on by fellow actors so it was a big honour for Colin to walk away with the award.
Picking up the award, Colin said: “It is weird. So many of you, I grew up watching on television and in film and so many I’ve worked with over the years and shared in the spirit of collaborative curiosity and all the stuff that we fail at doing and we succeed at doing, and none of it is ever quantifiable.

“And that’s the beautiful thing, and the annoying thing, about what we do, it’s just unquantifiable. It’s play time. You don’t get to fully grow up. You get to kind of keep the dream of a child alive, to try to figure out what it is to be human and it’s so much fun.
“I want to thank my fellow nominees, Richard [Gaad], Andrew [Scott], Kevin [Kline] and Javier [Bardem]. My deepest respect and admiration for you. And this is, look, it sounds really cheesy, but we’re all supporting actors. You know, I get it. The big parts called the lead, smaller parts, day-players, extras, and all that s**t, but we all support each other.”
He took the chance to thank his family during his emotional speech, saying: “My mom, Rita, my dad, Eamon, and the two people in my life who have made my life so much more special and so much more meaningful, so much more joyful than I ever truly thought possible – my son James and my son, Henry. I love you both, and we’re going back to watch Shōgun tonight and finish it up.”
So well deserved, Colin!
