Christmas lovers are being caught out by this Ronan Keating song, and they’re NOT happy

The former Boyzone star did a cover version of The Pogues' 'Fairytale of New York.'

Ronan Keating has disappointed fans with his cover of Christmas classic, Fairytale of New York.Ronan originally recorded a version of the track back in 2000 with Moya Brennan, but it’s resurfaced on Spotify this holiday season, much to fans dismay.

Don’t get us wrong, it’s not that it’s a bad cover, it’s just not a crowd favourite like the original by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl.

Firsty, it has no swear words; instead a line in the second verse has been replaced with “you’re cheap and you’re haggard” (you know the line we mean). Secondly, it just doesn’t have the same edge to it, primarily because of the lack of profanities. It’s just not right!

Fans are not happy with their Christmas Spotify playlists when the former Boyzone star starts singing the festive hit in their ears, and they’ve taken to social media to warn others of their plight.

Well, the people have spoken, but check it out for yourself before making your judgement!
