We love nothing more than a good throwback here in VIP Towers, but these latest findings are just about as good as they come.
The first of our two throwbacks – yes, sometimes we spoil you – is of a bright eyed and bushy tailed 16-year-old Ryan Tubridy.
Starting his career on the airwaves, Ryan appeared as a guest on RTE’s Scratch Saturday to review a couple of books – and he didn’t hold back with his critiques!
27 years later, the presenter still hasn’t left the RTE studios, but instead of voicing his opinions during guest slots, he’s hosting one of the biggest shows in the country, and entertaining the masses each day on the radio.
Another star who had a similar approach to getting into the industry was Graham Norton.
We stumbled across some footage of the Irish host who appeared on RTE’s Youngling back in 1981.
The only thing that has changed about the presenter is a slightly better hair-do – and of course the fact that he’s now the face of the UK’s biggest chat show, The Graham Norton Show.
Persistence certainly paid off for these two hosts!
