Brian Dowling has shared a heartwarming behind-the-scenes glimpse of a very special day for his family as husband Arthur Gourounlian officially made his debut as his co-host on The Six O’Clock Show.
The presenter took to Instagram after Monday’s programme, where the couple made history as the first married gay couple to host an Irish chat show together.
But it wasn’t just Arthur making his mark in the studio.
Brian revealed that daughters Blake and Blu also joined their dads at work, with eldest Blake even getting to play a starring role behind the scenes.
“It’s not every day I get to bring my whole family to work,” Brian wrote alongside a series of adorable snaps from the Virgin Media studio.
“The last time Blake & Blu appeared on Six Blu, Blu was only about 5 weeks old, & now she’s running around in the studio & sitting in one of the hosts’ chairs.”
He went on to reveal that Blake had been preparing all week for her big moment.
“Blake was fully in charge today & has been practising saying ‘roll the titles’ all week. She absolutely ACED it.”

Of course, Brian couldn’t resist teasing his husband after Arthur’s first day in the host’s chair.
“Today, it was Day 1 of co-hosting with my husband @gourounlian & I have to say I’m impressed & see potential. Bring on the rest of the week.”
Arthur is filling in alongside Brian on The Six O’Clock Show this week before Lottie Ryan joins the programme as Brian’s permanent co-host in September.
Already a familiar face to viewers thanks to his regular guest appearances, the Dancing with the Stars judge is swapping the guest sofa for the presenter chair for a week packed with high-profile interviews, including appearances from John Cleese, Alan Quinlan, Darragh Ennis and more.
Following Arthur’s stint on the show, the couple will head off to enjoy a well-earned summer break.
