Although the majority of people were stunned at Brian McFadden and Vogue William’s joint statement that their marriage is over, pals of the pair say that they saw it coming.

Fans may have been shocked when the seemingly loved-up couple announced they are splitting, having wed in a lavish ceremony in Florence in 2012 after a whirlwind romance, but their friends have admitted it’s “no surprise” that they’ve called it quits, citing their different ambitions as the root cause.

“To be honest, no one is really surprised by the news, they haven’t been out and about together in so long,” a source said.

“She’s super focused on what she wants, but he’s just more laid-back about everything”

“They’re both so different when it comes to their careers.

“She’s super focused on what she wants, but he’s just more laid-back about everything. She wants to work hard and branch out more in the UK,” they told the Irish Independent.

And music mogul Louis Walsh has also spoken out about the breakup between the former Westlife star and his model and DJ wife, who he says he is quite close with.

“It’s always sad when a couple breaks up,” he said,

“I know both Brian and Vogue very well and I’ve great time for them both. But to be honest, when a marriage isn’t working then it’s better to call it quits.”

“This hasn’t come as a surprise from people who know them,” he told the Irish Daily Mirror.

Although Brian and Vogue were reported to have bought a home together in Howth just last month, they hadn’t been papped together since Christmas

Although Brian and Vogue were reported to have bought a home together in Howth just last month, they hadn’t been papped together since Christmas, which was unusual for the pair who frequently made public appearances together.

Just last weekend, the former popstar travelled to Wales for the Celebrity Cup golf tournament along with Keith Duffy, Brian Ormond and Ronan Keating, where the Bear Grylls:Mission Survive star was noticeably missing.

When fellow model and blogger Pippa O’Connor tweeted Vogue to see if she’d be joining her at the event, Vogue replied: “No lovely, I’ve work at home. Devo I’m missing it, no holidays for me until September”.

Although the couple often gushed about one another in the media – Brian referred to Vogue as his “soulmate” just weeks ago – Vogue had been vocal about their bickering in recent times.

The Fade Street stunner revealed that Brogue argued like “brother and sister” and that the singer’s lack of organisation was driving her mad.

“Brian is the most unorganised person in the world,” she told The Herald. “He actually does nothing – if he was my flatmate I wouldn’t live with him.”
