We’ve seen Brenden Gleeson take on plenty of different roles during his stellar career in the showbiz industry. Showing of his dramatic skills in films like Michael Collins, his action side in Green Zone, and even his comedic charm in films like Paddington 2.

But now, Brenden is taking on a role we’ve never seen in him in before, embracing his inner skateboarder.

The 67-year-old showed off his skating skills, in hilarious new clip from American sketch show, Saturday Night Live. Each episode has a different celebrity host, who partakes in their skits, with Brenden hosting their upcoming show.

In the teaser clip, the Dubliner starts: “I’m Brendan Gleeson, most people know me as an actor, but the real me… is a skater,” before “shredding it” through the offices and stage set of the show.

Acting as a angsty teen, he is seen spray painting over a no skateboarding sign, and complaining about “posers”, while also flee from security saying: “up yours copper”

Hosting the second show of the season, Brendan will be joined by singer Willow Smith, daughter of Will and Jada Smith.

For the show, the Mission Impossible star will likely write his monologue and be involved in the writing of the sketches that are shown throughout the episode.

Brendan joins a list of previous Irish hosts of the show, including Liam Neeson, Saoirse Ronan, and pal Colin Farrell.

Brendan is currently gearing up for the release of his new movie ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’. The flick premiered at Venice Film Festival earlier this month where it received a 13-minute standing ovation.
