Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell reportedly unable to attend the Critics Choice Awards after testing positive for Covid-19

The Banshees of Inisherin has been on a winning streak lately, after cleaning up at the Golden Globes taking home the prize for Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor for Colin Farrell and Best Screenplay for writer-director Martin McDonagh.

Their lucky streak looks set to continue at tonight’s Critics Choice Awards, but unfortunately stars Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell reportedly won’t be there to see it.

Variety’s Senior Culture & Events Editor, Marc Malkin, tweeted the stars would be unable to attend after they both tested positive for Covid-19.

Writing: “Here we go again. Just confirmed that #colinfarrell and #brendongleeson won’t be at #CriticsChoiceAwards tomorrow because they have both tested positive for COVID.”

The Banshees of Inisherin received nine nominations at the Critics Choice Awards, including Best Picture and Best Acting Ensemble.

Colin is in the runner for Best Actor, while Brendan has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Also nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category, is their co-star Barry Keoghan. While  writer and director Martin McDonagh is nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Director.
