He may have quit Boyzone back in 2000, but Ronan Keating has warned Zayn Malik that he will regret leaving pop sensations One Direction.
Ronan walked away from the band, which has since reformed, commenting later that he felt like he did all the work and bandmember Shane Lynch since claimed he “hated him with a passion” for leaving.
But the When You Say Nothing At All singer is adamant that it was the best decision for him – but that 1D’s Zayn has made a big mistake.
The hunky singer broke millions of hears when he announced he was leaving the band earlier this year, turning it into a foursome of Harry, Niall, Louis and Liam.
And although Ronan empathised with the stresses of being in a famous boyband, but thinks Zayn made the wrong choice.
“I know what a pressure cooker being in a band like that can be,” he said.
“I felt like that too – I had to get out, but I don’t think he should have left. I think he should have taken a break instead. Because he will regret it. It’s a great band, a great opportunity.”
“He’s a young lad, and I think he will regret it,” he told Bang Showbiz.
