Irish stars got their glad rags on last night and walked the red carpet at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin.
Leading an all-star cast, Jay McGuiness, star of The Wanted and Strictly Come Dancing, is joined by a full Dublin ensemble of local theatre stars, along with West End pro’s Jessica Martin, Diana Vickers, Gary Wilmot and The Hoosiers star Irwin Sparkes.
Irish audiences are the first to witness this spectacular musical before it opens in London’s West End next year, and it’s sure to entice and enchant this festive season. Well-known Irish faces such as Jenny Buckley, Baz Ashmawy, Marty Whelan and Deric Ó hArtagáin were in attendance.
BIG tells the story of Josh Baskin, a twelve year old boy who hates being little, until one night at the carnival the mysterious Zoltar machine grants his wish to be big. Trapped in an adult’s body and alone in New York, he innocently tries to find his way around a grown-up world where it’s all work and no play. But whilst everyone around him tries to act their age, Josh just can’t help being himself. Maybe he can teach the real adults a thing or two!
The heart-warming and hilarious Broadway musical is based on the classic movie BIG, starring Tom Hanks. Audiences are sure to love it!
