Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian and Brian Dowling announced they were expecting their first child last month, with Brian’s sister Aoife being their surrogate. The pair have been very open about their journey and now Arthur is opening up about his nearing fatherhood.
Speaking with Ray Foley on Today FM, the dancer revealed he and Brian are in the middle of arranging the nursery.
Saying; “We are (due) in September-ish, not long now! Brian’s more buying baby clothes and I’m more doing the nursery now, but there is so much to do. I know we’re not prepared, we’re never prepared for anything, but we are getting there slowly but surely!”
Arthur also opened up about their parenting styles, including who will most likely be the stricter one.
Explaining; “I think I’m going to be the strict Dad and Brian will be spoiling the baby 100%, he will definitely spoil the baby.”
The soon-to-be father was clearly thrilled to be chatting about the baby, as he confessed what a struggle it was to keep it a secret.
“I’ve been doing Dancing with the Stars since January, we were doing all this and when we got the news I was dying to go out there and scream from the rooftops! Honestly it was so hard to keep this amazing secret.” he confessed.
Arthur and Brian recently revealed their surrogate’s identity. Sharing on Instagram that Brian’s sister Aoife is carrying their child.
Both shared tributes to thanks her for helping them start a family. With Brian writing; “Not only is this my BEAUTIFUL sister Aoife, she is also our INCREDIBLE Surrogate. From our very first conversation about this back in 2019 to where we are now is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING”
Confessing she had, “gone above & beyond for” them.
