Aoibhín Garrihy, like many parents, sent her eldest child off to school this week.
It was definitely an emotional moment for the proud mother as she sent her daughter, Hanorah to Junior Infants.
However, she couldn’t have been prouder of her little one when she collected her after her first day.
She shared a picture of Hanorah in her school uniform with her younger sisters, Líobhan and Isla.

Aoibhín also posted some pictures of her with her eldest child.
“Highlight of the day for me…when we collected Hanorah after her first day at big school,” Aoibhín wrote.
“Her lovely new teacher gave the pupils a little chocolate bar leaving to congratulate them on a great start and she marched out the gate with a big smile, made a bee line for Líobhan, snapped the bar in half and gave the other half straight to her. Proud proud Mama.”
What a sweet moment!
Hanorah’s auntie, Ailbhe, was also on hand to share her delight with her niece.
“It’s the cardigan for me,” she commented on the pictures which showcased Hanorah in her school uniform which included a grey pinafore and a red cardigan.
