Angela Scanlon has shared the reasons why she chose the names for both of her daughters. The RTE presenter was answering some questions from her followers on Instagram when someone asked; “How did you decide on you daughter’s names?”

The Bray native’s first child is called Ruby, which Angela said she’d had in mind for some time but she shared that for her second was a more impulsive choice!

“I always had Ruby even before I was pregnant. Marnie was a last minute decision. We had other names milling about but this one came late in the day (I think she gave it to me!).

“She was born in water so it feels fitting too,” she added as the name means ‘from-the-sea.’

Captioning the photo of her cradling the little one she said; “Marnie Fae Horgan 11.2.22.”

“Chapped lips & chapped nips can only mean one thing… our little woman has arrived!! We are besotted,’ she added.
