The city’s best dressed fash-pack turn out for Dublin Fashion Festival Young Designer of the Year fashion show

Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney & Michele McGrath were in attendance

Last night saw Bank of Ireland, College Green transform into a style haven as hundreds of the city’s best dressed fash-pack turned out to watch the now renowned Dublin Fashion Festival Young Designer of the Year fashion show.
Guests at last night’s event were treated to a design extravaganza as the crème de la crème of Ireland’s young designers showcased their vision for fashion and competed for the coveted title. Hosted by two of Ireland’s leading designers, commentators and stylists, Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney of Lennon Courtney, Dublin Fashion Festival and the esteemed judging panel were proud to crown Katie Donohoe from Griffith College as the grand winner.
 
Guests in attendance included this year’s judging panel consisting of Irish Independent’s Lesley Ann Horgan esteemed photographer Barry McCall; TV3 Xpose producer, Debbie O’ Donnell; Aisling Kilduff, Owner of the Design Centre; Deirdre Devaney, Ladies Fashion Director, Arnotts and Caroline Hanratty, Head of Personal and Private Shopping, Brown Thomas.
 
Other well known faces soaking up the atmosphere on the night included top bloggers Anouska Proetta Brandon and Lauren Bejaoui, singer and model Michelle McGrath, stylists Irene O’Brien and Brian Conway, milliner Martha Lynn and more. Guests were treated to delicious cocktails courtesy of 37 Dawson Street whilst DJ Steven Cooper spun the decks until late.
 
Also announced on the night was the Canon Young Photographer of the Year Competition winner. A new element to the festival this year, the Canon Young Fashion Photographer of the Year competition searched for the hottest newcomer in fashion photographer in Ireland today and unveiled Lisa Griffin as the winner last night. Lisa will receive €500 worth of Canon products and a money can’t buy experience at London Fashion Weekend this September. She will be flown to London courtesy of Canon Ireland where they will have the chance to photograph a fashion show featuring some of the best known labels and models in the fashion industry.
 
Taking place from Monday, 7th September until Sunday, 13th September, the Dublin Fashion Festival puts a sense of excitement and theatre back into shopping and socializing in the capital. Celebrating all things fashion, over 250 retailers, restaurants, bars and hotels are taking part in one of the city centre’s liveliest annual festivals this year.
The sartorially packed schedule includes everything from on-street fashion shows on Grafton Street and Henry Street and exciting in-store events, to stylathons, special offers, the Bessie Fashion Bus, and much, much more.
