The best of Ireland’s comedic talent are coming together to raise money for Comic Relief. Ireland’s ‘Green Nose Day’ will take place in Dublin’s 3 Arena on St. Patrick’s Day, the 17th of March 2017.

The event is being organised by actress and comedian Deirdre O’Kane, and all funds raised will be split 50/50 between relief efforts in Syria and worthy causes on home turf, such as the homeless crisis.

A number of Ireland’s funniest people have gotten on board for the show, including Dara O’Briain and Patrick Kielty, who will act as hosts on the night. A full lineup is expected to be revealed in the coming days, and RTE are also in talks to broadcast the charity gala.

Gogglebox presenter Deirdre told the Irish Sun that she is delighted at the positive reaction, and that so many have decided to get involved.

“I just want to thank so many of my fellow comics for agreeing to it. It’s a reaction to Aleppo and our own homeless crisis,” she said.

‘Green Nose Day’ certainly has our support!
