Doireann Garrihy is flying high.
She is all smiles as she welcomes VIP Magazine into her new home, making us the first publication allowed into her own space. She has moved into her gorgeous house in the past six months.
And that’s not the only big life change for her – she’s preparing to walk down the aisle. Yes, she is beaming when she reveals that a wedding date is set.
Speaking to us for our May issue, she reveals: “A date is set for the end of the year!”
She’s a busy bee, between her 2FM radio show, Dancing with the Stars, The Full Irish Hidden Camera Show and her podcasts, Laughs of your Life and Doireann and Friends. We wonder when she’ll get a second to plan a wedding.
“What a project!” she laughs, “I’ve been trying to make a conscious decision to do a bit less this summer because I don’t want to be wrecked for my wedding day. It’s gonna be magic.”
Her wedding day is sure to be the best day of her life. But she tells us that her engagement “was the happiest day of my life”.
“It was such a warm day, such a lovely time of year as well. It was the 30th of November, the first weekend of true Christmas buzz in Dublin. We went into town and got together with family and friends and it was heavenly,” she explains.
“All our festive plans turned into extra engagement celebrations. Then it was straight into Dancing With The Stars (DWTS). I got engaged on a Thursday and I was back to work on the Monday and it was like, ‘Does anybody even know I’m engaged?!’”
