Zeinab is absolutely “buzzing” the R&B singer has just landed her first full-time radio gig.

Earlier this month, it was announced that she would be joining the line-up at FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock alongside Crossy and JimJim Nugent.

And she couldn’t be more excited, telling VIP Magazine at this year’s eir Power of Women Awards: “I am absolutely loving it. Each day when I finish, I can’t believe that it was a working day. I’m like ‘This is work?’

“It’s insane, I’m absolutely loving it, I’m loving hanging out with Jim Jim and Crossey they are absolute dotes. I’m just loving feeling and watching our friendships form. I know it’s really cringy, but I have been smiling from ear to ear all week.”

So how did the phone call go? How did she find out about getting the job? Well, she’s beaming ear to ear as she tells us.

“I had been doing a few cover shifts here and there. I covered for Crossy when he went on holiday in the summer. That week was kind of like let’s introduce you to that person, let’s introduce you to this person. I think that was somewhat of an interview situation happening here.

“I was brought into a room, and I was asked how I was finding the week and then the news was told to me. I was like don’t get teary, don’t get teary and kind of did. I was like this is the biggest deal I am a Strawberry! I am the Strawberry of the Strawberry Alarm Clock. I’ve listened to that since I was a kid and all it took was for me to be on the show to finally get a Cuddle Mug after all these decades I finally have a couple.”

She went on to say: “I’m so excited to hit the ground running with my first Strawberry Alarm Clock and my Strawberry family and just see what happens. The roller coaster I’m on at the moment is a fantastic one and I’m really excited to see where I am in the next year.”

Of course, Zeinab isn’t just known for her radio skills. She has also been doing some presenting gigs in Virgin Media.

“I’ve been working so hard over the last decade, and I feel like everything has kind of come together just so recently,” she tells us.

“It was only in May that I did my first guest presenting on Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock Show and then I started doing bits on FM 104 in July so I’m living in a dream. It just all feels crazy. My face hurts because I’ve been smiling so hard I’m going to try not to get teary now as well.”

On top of her presenting gigs, Zeinab is at her core, a singer. And she promises that she’s not leaving music behind.

“I’ve got a few songs that I’m ready to release and I’m so excited because I have other people other than my friends and my family streaming these songs so I’m very excited for people to hear that.”
