The Dancing With The Stars final is set to take place this weekend, with former Fair City star Aoibhin Garrihy, Red Rock’s Denise McCormark and former Kerry GAA player Aidan O’Mahony battling it out for the coveted glitter ball trophy.
Although all three want to be crowned the winner, each are already set to take home a major pay packet. For making it this far in the competition all three finalists will be awarded with €24,000.
Despite the large figure, Shanwil producer Larry Bass says it is well earned for the amount of hard work that has been put in by the celebrity contestants. He also noted how the show has impacted the lives of the Irish people, and those who took part.
Speaking to the Herald he said, “We have had celebrity shows in Ireland but nothing that has impacted or touched a nation as big as this one.
“Hughie Maughan, who was on a UK show, he was really unknown beforehand. Along with Kelly Mongan he’s now probably the best-known Traveller in the country. He’s probably done more for the sales of fake tan than anyone else.”
You can catch the DWTS final this Sunday on RTE One at 6:30pm.
