We never really looked for proof that the Irish loved Ed, but now there’s solid evidence.
Not only has the singer sold out concert upon concert here, but he has now shown the world that he’s one of our favourite artists ever, by spending a year at the top of the charts.
Ed’s second album, ‘X’, has remained in the top 10 of the Irish Album Charts for 53 weeks so far, passing the year-long mark.
It was the biggest selling album last year, with ‘X’ reaching number one in the charts over here 12 times throughout the year. His platinum singles, ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Sing’, obviously helped the process.
Ed will be coming back to Ireland for a huge celebration next month, with two sold out shows in Croke Park. He’ll play the iconic venue on Friday July 24th, and Saturday July 25th.
We can’t wait to see what he has planned for the people who love him so very much!
