It comes after it was revealed that the show would have a massive shakeup when it comes to social media.

Unlike previous years, none of the friends and families of this year’s islanders will be allowed to post on contestants’ social media throughout the duration of the show.

Islanders are this year being asked to pause their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts while in the villa as part of the show’s new updated duty of care.

This shift aims to protect friends and family from trolling or abusive content while the show is airing, while also ensuring that islanders are not exposed to it immediately after leaving the villa.

The first winter series took place in 2020, ending just weeks before the world went into lockdown due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, plans for a 2021 series were shelved.

However, after the impressive surge of viewers of the 2022 summer series, ITV confirmed that winter Love Island would be back with a bang.

We can’t wait!
