Vogue has hit out at sceptics

Vogue Williams has hit out at rumours that her and Brian McFadden‘s marriage split is a publicity stunt to further their careers.

The model separated from her former Westlife star husband in July, but since then they have been spotted at different events together, and even admitted they were still living in the same house.

But the 30-year-old insists that despite being photographed together looking close on numerous occasions, their split is real and not for attention. However, the Howth native admits that she can “understand” why onlookers might think the pair are just trying to promote their careers.

Speaking at the Just Eat.ie National Takeaway Awards last night, she said: “I can understand why people [are sceptical], but I think of better ways to get myself publicity than breaking up with somebody.

“I get why people think it’s weird, and I’ve never really been friends with an ex. I’m friends with my exes now, but there’s always been a break of a year or more. This time, it didn’t work out like that…

She added: “Everyone thinks it’s a bit weird [that we have been at the same events], but we were both paid to go to a recent Specsavers party, separately. That was a job and we obviously went.”

“My manager said, “I don’t think you should sit at the same table,” but I just thought it would look strange so we sat with each other. The other event was his vodka launch, and he was excited about that, so I went along.”

She said that the break up is a permanent one, and that she is happy being pals with the singer.

“If there was a reunion between us I would just come out and say it, because I don’t want it to look like a publicity stunt, if it was to ever happen.

“But there is no reunion at the moment. I’m moving in to my own place, I’m going to be independent.”

And the beauty told Evoke.ie that a main reason for her and Brian staying close friends is down to her relationship with Brian’s two daughters, Molly, 14, and Lily-Sue, 12.

“I’ve known the girls for years now and I get on really well with them. I don’t want to make it any weirder for them,” she said.

Meanwhile, Brian McFadden has been looking out for another ex-wife at the moment, as Kerry Katona goes through a distressing marriage breakdown. The ‘Call on Me Brother’ singer has offered a shoulder to cry on for the former Atomic Kitten star, who is the mother of his children.
