Vogue Williams has been criticised by Ireland’s National Animal Rights Association for donning a fur-lined jacket in a recent Instagram post.
Last week, while training for The Jump, the model shared a snap of herself in Austria wearing €700 Popski London parka lined with rabbit fur. This comes just one year after she criticised Kim Kardashian for dressing her daughter, North in a $3500 fur coat.
“I mean, who would ever dress a child in a $3,500 coat that will probably fit her for about two months,” she wrote in her Sunday World column.
“I don’t really see the need to dress a child in fur either, and in L.A. of all places.”
Ireland’s National Animal Rights Association has said they are “very disappointed” that a public figure like Vogue would wear fur – and believe if she saw the horrible conditions of fur-farms, she’d think twice about wearing it again.
“Vogue seems to have gone back on her ethical policy which is very disappointing.” a spokesperson for the association told the Irish Independent. “It’s concerning that people in the public eye would support these practices and fur farms, which in 2017 are unethical and archaic.
“We would invite Vogue to have a look into some of investigations into the cruel realities of fur-farms and see if it is something she would still like to support.”
