Una Healy has revealed the reason why she dropped her married name when embarking upon a solo career.

The Saturdays singer appeared on The Late Late Show last night to perform a track from her newly released album, The Waiting Game and chat about the making of the album.

The Tipperary native spoke about how she opted to use her maiden name when releasing her debut album, because it was more personal to her.

“I know it’s a little bit confusing,”she told Ryan.

“I’m still Una Healy but I’m Mrs. Foden when I go home. I just like to have my own identity. When I was releasing this record, I felt it was nice to go back to my maiden name.”

Una, who has two beautiful children with rugby ace Ben Foden, went on to rubbish rumours that her name change is due to problems within her marriage.

“I’m still a Foden, I know I sparked a few rumours about marital problems and all, but absolutely no way.” she said.

“Ben is completely supportive of the fact I switched back to Healy for my music.”
