Poor Tommy Bowe – it’s been revealed that the rugby star will miss the the Six Nations due to the injuries he sustained during the Ireland’s World Cup defeat to Argentina.
His province, Ulster, has confirmed that the 31-year-old will be out of action for up to half a year, and confirmed that he has suffered both posterior cruciate ligament and meniscal injuries in his right knee.
In a statement today, it was announced that the winger went under the knife on Monday and that his recovery time will be roughly six months.
Meanwhile, Iain Henderson, who suffered a hand injury in Ireland’s defeat to Argentina, will undergo surgery to stabilise a joint in his hand and will be sidelined for up to 6 weeks.
And that’s not all the bad news – Jared Payne remains out of action after surgery on a fractured foot. He’s currently awaiting his first post-operative review, after which a prognosis will be known.
Get well soon, lads!
