Too cute! Here are 8 of VIP’s Very Important Pets!

We take a look at our favourite Irish celebrity/pet dog duos!

Celebrities and cute dogs have gone hand in hand for as long as we can remember – from Paris Hilton’s $13K Pomeranian puppy Mr Amazing to Eva Mendes intimidatingly beautiful attack dog Hugo and Miley Cyrus’ five rescued dogs who are the true stars of her Instagram page, but who are the dogs of the Irish elite?

When panto queen Twink’s Yorkshire terrier was taken from her Knocklyon home, she reacted in her trademark unfiltered way, saying “My heart is f**king broken, someone has taken my baby, I feel like he has been snatched from my bosom”. Some good came of the drama though, when Twink reached out to her old friend Linda Martin, with whom she had a sensational feud with five years before while performing in Menopause: The Musical. Linda shares Twink’s love of pets, with 19 dogs of her own, and responded with, “She didn’t need to ask me for help, but I’m glad she did”.

Bailey & Madge

His chat-show is a magnet for megastars who want to promote their latest and have a laugh in the process, but Graham prefers to spend time with his pets than hang out with celebrity pals when it comes to his days off. Bailey the labradoodle and Madge (named after Madonna!) the terrier, are the Dublin-born presenter’s true companions in his London apartment.

Harley Gilson

Xpose‘s brunette babe Glenda Gilson says her L’Hassa Apso, Harley, is the love of her life. The too-cute-for-words Tibeten dog is spoiled, Glenda admits, and gets away with everything because of his “little ninja face”. Harley enjoys long walks in the Phoenix Park and people-watching. Sounds pretty good to us!

Aussie Keating

Singer Ronan Keating together with his new wife Storm Uechtritz welcomed an absolutely adorable pug puppy named Aussie – presumably after his time spent down under – into their lives in 2014, weeks after telling how they hoped to start a family together. The singer was so proud of his pooch he even took it on an appearance on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

Poppy & Peter

The Voice of Ireland presenter Kathryn Thomas likes to be the voice of animals too – the outspoken blonde is an ambassador for Irish Search Dogs. Kathryn credits her fluffy friends for keeping her motivated to exercise, and says when her friends hook-up to bring their children to the zoo, she brings Poppy and Peter. Isn’t that sweet?

Ted & Hank

Leinster and Ireland rugby prop Cian Healy is a man-beast on the pitch but has a softer side at home, and he loves no-one more than his dogs. His pug Ted is famous on Instagram, while he recently added to his four-footed family with the arrival of a German Shepherd pooch named Hank, which happened at the same time as the departure of his Irish model girlfriend Holly Carpenter.

Harry Kennedy

Style guru Darren Kennedy caused quite the excitement on the red carpet at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards when he rocked up with none other than his teeny tiny pooch Harry…and if that wasn’t enough, they were wearing matching suits! Cuteness overload!

Ted Davison

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has previously said she wanted her Pomeranian Ted to become the first dog supermodel…now that we’d love to see! Rosanna took her little fluffball on RTE show Superstar Dogs and admitted she sees her pet as her baby.
