Tommy Bowe explains his Ireland AM absence

If you’ve been tuning into Ireland AM, you’ll have noticed that presenter Tommy Bowe is missing. He’s now revealed that he’ll be taking a short break from the show after contracting coronavirus.

He shared with his Instagram followers that he won’t be on the show this week, as it had “knocked him for six”.

Tommy shared: “I thought I would come on for a quick message, I look so rough, I got Covid last week and it really knocked me for six, actually.

“I ended up getting tonsillitis, couldn’t eat, couldn’t speak, lost a load of weight.

“It was pretty brutal, actually. So New Year’s wasn’t much craic for me.”

Tommy then went on to say that, thankfully, his family didn’t get the virus and that he’s hoping to be back on our screens next week.

He continued saying: “Thankfully the family, everybody else is OK and I’ll just take a couple of days to rest up and I’ll be back on Ireland AM hopefully next week.

“But turns out this Covid it’s not really much craic but anyway look after yourselves happy new year and hopefully see you all soon.”
