A US film site has tipped several Irish stars for Oscar success next year.
The Hollywood reported put together an extensive list of likely winners for the 90th Academy Awards.
The awards columnist wrote a list of the possible winners ranking them under frontrunners, major threats, possibilities and long shots. He also included possible winners from movies that have not yet been released.
Among the five front runners for Best Actress is Saoirse Ronan for her role in the upcoming Lady Bird.
She was listed among the likes of Margot Robbie and Jessica Chastain as likely to take home the award.
Liam Neeson was listed as a possible winner for Best Actor for his role in Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House.
However, unlike Saoirse Ronan, Neeson is listed as a long shot winner.
Cork-born Nora Twomey may also take home the prize for her animation work on The Breadwinner.
The film is tipped as a Front Runner for best animation.
Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk is also hotly tipped to win Best Picture, which would mean that Irish talent like Barry Keoghan and Cillian Murphy could also be walking away with an award.
