This Friday’s Late Late Show will have a lot to keep viewers entertained. The judges from Dancing With The Stars stopping by, two Irish athletes will be chatting about their experiences, and innovative entrepreneurs will show off their creations, along with much more.
Firstly Ryan will sit down with Gail O’Rorke, the first person in Ireland to be prosecuted for assisting suicide. Acquitted last year, Ms O’Rorke will tell viewers her harrowing story of being put on trial for attempting to help her friend Bernadette Forde travel to Swiss euthanasia clinic Dignitas to end her life. She’ll be telling Ryan why she wanted to help her friend, who had a severe form of multiple sclerosis, end her suffering.
Dancing with the Stars judges Julian Benson, Loraine Barry and Brian Redmond will be testing Ryan Tubridy’s dancing skills with a few key moves. They’ll be giving viewers the lowdown on the celebs impressing the most, and the ones who could be in danger of being sent home soon.
It’s the Late Late Show Enterprise Special this week, and it will feature an Irish company making a product that’s all the rage in continental Europe. The Special will feature everything from an innovative new jersey that protects hurling players, to a special way to commemorate dead loved ones. We’ll also be hearing from the man behind the lamb carousel, the cause of much controversy on last year’s Enterprise Special, and finding out how Dynamo the sheep is doing these days!
Cork woman Sinéad Kane made history recently when she became the first visually-impaired athlete to complete the World Marathon Challenge – seven marathons in seven continents in seven days. We’ll be celebrating her monumental achievement and hearing why she put herself through such a gruelling challenge.
Fellow athlete Derval O’Rourke will be popping in for a chat about life since she stepped off the track, and she’ll be giving us her view on the ongoing problem with doping in athletics.
Also in the studio will be Sligo artist Arlene McPadden, whose work brings a whole new twist to taxidermy. She’ll be introducing viewers to the fine art of “rogue taxidermy,” the creation of sculptures using the traditional method of preserving animal’s bodies through taxidermy.
All that and music from Jimmy Buckley and Celtic Woman- only on The Late Late Show, this Friday at 9:35pm on RTE One.
