The VIP List: Here’s what we’re loving this week

The weather may have let us down this week, but we’re staying in high spirits.

As always!

And we’ve had plenty to love, here’s what we’ve been loving…

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving… Folkster’s next stage

I’ve fallen in love with Irish brand, Folkster.

And I’ve loved seeing them blossoming and bloom over the years.

Folkster recently announced their departure from Dundrum Town Centre, looking to return to their roots in a City Centre. The independent fashion and gifting brand was founded by Stylist Blanaid Hennessy in Kilkenny City, and retains its original Patrick St. store there.

Added to this move was the acquisition of a second new home – a light-filled Bridesmaids space located in Fashion City, Ballymount.

So if you’re looking for dream bridesmaid dresses, Folkster is the place to be. Don’t forget to book your appointment at folkster.com

Head of Commercial and Events Rebecca is loving…a good tan

As a pasty-skinned gal, I am forever on the hunt for a natural-looking, easy-to-use fake tan that doesn’t dry out my skin or go patchy.

Irish brand, Ella & Jo has just launched the ultimate fusion of skincare and sun-kissed radiance with their Hydrate & Glow Gradual Moisturiser and I am obsessed.

It is a buildable, glowy tan infused with Hyaluronic acid to give you that perfect sun-kissed glow and a bargain at €22

Head of Digital Jade is loving… Tony’s Chocolonely

If there’s one thing that’ll get me through the week, it’s chocolate.

Chocolate bars, chocolate bits, and chocolate treats come in the form of mini Tony Chocolonely deliciousness.

Tony’s Littl’ Bits come in four flavours and chances are each is as tasty as the last.

As the brand says, it takes balls to end the exploitation in chocolate…

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…a Bridgerton-themed day

I’m obsessed with Bridgerton – who isn’t?

So I jumped at the chance to step back in time at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel as they have officially launched the Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea experience.

The culinary team has drawn on their expertise and passion to meticulously craft a signature afternoon tea menu at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel.

They curated a selection of sweet and savoury treats fit for royalty. From delicate pastries that pay homage to the adored characters from Bridgerton, to early 1800’s inspired savoury delights and cocktails including Penelope’s Prosecco, each item is thoughtfully prepared to elevate the afternoon tea experience to a new level of sophistication.

The Bridgerton Afternoon tea experience will take place in PJ’s Restaurant at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel every Saturday in June priced at €35 per person.

Staff Writer Anja is loving…Come From Away

I first saw Come From Away in London back in 2020 (just before COVID really kicked off) and I was absolutely blown away by it. I didn’t know what to expect about a musical that told the real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11. But any doubts I may have had soon disappeared after their first opening number.

The musical perfectly balances light and dark, and you can’t help but get invested in each and every one of the characters’ stories. The music is also addicting and has been a steady favourite on my Spotify all this week. It may seem weird to describe a musical about events that happened surrounding 9/11 as uplifting, but that’s exactly what it is. And if you go to see it, trust me, you’ll feel the same, thanks to the Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives with open hearts.

Come From Away is now showing at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until 22 June 2024. Get your tickets here. This is one show you don’t want to miss!

Head of Commercial and Events Rebecca is loving…a gorgeous clothing collection

The new Rita Ora x Primark Festival-inspired collection has landed in stores and it is a boho gal’s dream.

From oversized faux leather jackets to floral skirts and delicate, embroidery dresses and top – this collection has to be my favourite of all four.

I will be queuing up first thing Tuesday morning to make sure I get my hands on the suede studded ankle boots and her brown leather jacket.

The collection lands stores on the 18th of June.

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…a pilates sock

I have become a Pilates Princess in recent months. I simply wouldn’t miss a class for the world.

But what am I to do with the slipping and the sliding of my socks on the mat? It’s truly a nightmare.

Thankfully Irish brand Ailínithe, which creates the cutest (seriously the cutest), pilates socks that feature grips on the bottom to ensure that you don’t slide off the matt or the machine.

They’re life-changing.
