TG4 apologise following poorly placed clip during Storm Ali reports

The clip was shown before the news broadcast

TG4 have apologised following the airing of a clip right before a news report on the affects of Storm Ali.

Storm Ali has been battering parts of the country in recent days, leaving many homes without electricity, and resulting in the sad deaths of two people over the course of it’s path.

The Irish language tv station was this week preparing a report on the sad death of a woman in Co.Galway, who died when her caravan was blown off a cliff during the storm.

However, a clip was shown before the news of three ‘beasts’ kicking caravan’s off cliffs.

Since the clip was aired, right before the news bulletin of Ms Ferraii’s death, TG4 have issued an apology for any ‘stress caused’ due to the mishap.

“The ident [a broadcasting term which is short for station identification] is one of a series of six idents, running since 2013, which are auto-scheduled,” a spokesman said.

“The ident [was] broadcast once yesterday and was immediately removed from the schedule. TG4 sincerely apologise for the unfortunate scheduling of this ident and any undue stress caused.”
