It’s been a great start to the year for actress Ruth Negga. She’s been nominated for a whole host of awards including a Golden Globe and a Bafta, and she’s been commended by one of the best actor’s in the business.
At the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday night Meryl Streep mentioned the former Love/Hate star in her acceptance speech for her lifetime achievement award.
During her speech Meryl said, “The beautiful Ruth Negga was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and raised in Ireland, and she’s here nominated for playing a small-town girl from Virginia.”
Since the Globes Ruth has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and discussed the epic moment. On the show she said, “I’m still sort of floating from that, I haven’t absorbed it – when would I absorb that?
“I couldn’t believe it, it was incredibly surreal. Just a complete dream come true. I have been such a huge fan of hers for so long.”
