RTE bosses have officially ruled out Brendan O’Connor as Vincent Browne’s replacement on the late night panel show.
Vincent, who had been presenting Tonight with Vincent Browne for 10 years, stepped away from his role last week.
TV3 have yet to reveal whether or not something new will fit into the time slot, but it has now been confirmed that Brendan will not be taking over, due to other commitments.
“I can confirm that Brendan O’Connor will be back in the autumn on RTE One on The Cutting Edge,” an RTE spokesperson told The Irish Sun.
Ivan Yates has also ruled himself out of the running for the spot, telling The Irish Sun, “I have had no dialogue with them on that slot. I don’t see the situation arising either.”
