RTE were the stars of the night last night as the annual IMRO awards took place at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny, with the national broadcasters taking home a total of eight awards.
The IMRO’s, previously called the PPI awards. showcased the best in Irish radio 2017, with RTE, Newstalk, Today FM and the BBC among the list of nominees and winners.
RTE1 took home the prizes for Full Service Station of the Year and the Innovative award for Liveline, while Lyric FM won Music station of the year.
The Ray D’arcy Show won gold for Best Magazine Programme.
The BBC won seven awards, with Newstalk picking up six, including Best News Broadcaster and Best Sports Programme.
