Rejection is never easy.

But with time you might be able to see the funny side to things. That was certainly the case for Roz Purcell.

In a teaser clip for the return of Doireann Garrihy‘s podcast, Roz spoke about how she first got into modelling.

And how she very quickly got rejected when she sent in pictures of herself to an agency!

“When I was 15 or 16, I applied for a modelling agency and they like rejected me. The rejection was pretty harsh!” she confesses to a very shocked Doireann.

However, neither of the women were able to contain their laughter as Roz continued her story admitting: “Now in fairness to them I sent a photo that was from my granduncle’s golden jubilee as a priest.”

“And I’m pretty sure I look like a nun in the photo!”

Doireann is quick to ask: “What way were you posing? Was it in a church?”

“I was in the kitchen, washing up,” Roz admits through a fit of giggles.

In fairness, there’s no surprise that she wasn’t picked up at the time. However, it all worked out in the end as she went on to represent Ireland in Miss Universe and has an illustrious modelling career.

The whole chat, which Doireann promises is just as gas, will be available on Monday September 19th when the podcast kicks off again.
