Rory McIlroy has been opened up about his bride-to-be, and gushed about his excitement of becoming a married man.
He got engaged to Erica Stoll earlier this month during a trip to Paris, and has since spoken out about the most important lady in his life.
Chatting to the Irish Independent, Rory said, ”We have really tried to keep it low key. She’s a very low key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is really good just now.
“For me, Erica brings such a level of normality to everything. She has a calming presence, a sereneness and that’s not just on me; it is noticeable in any company.
“She never wants to be the centre of attention and is always very comfortable in the background.”
The Irish golfer continued to gush about his bride-to-be, saying that she’s a “great influence” on his life.
Opening up about his impending nuptials, Rory said, “We are excited, our parents are excited so it is a really happy time.”
However despite looking forward to becoming a married man, has no plans to walk up the aisle anytime soon.
Remaining coy about the details, he said, “We’ve nothing planned right now, and there is definitely no rush. It’s going to be such a busy year.”
