The couple welcomed a baby girl, on Thursday, the 1st of September, sharing the news a few days later.

Continuing on he said: “Blake was delivered safely on Thursday September 1st at 14:52pm weighting 7lb 4ozs. We are ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY IN LOVE with her & can’t believe she’s here & is ours”

Brian also took the oppurtunity to thank those who made their journey to parenthood possible, particularly their egg donor and their surrogate, Aoife, who is Brian’s sister.

Writing: “None of this would have been possible without our donor, a woman we have never met or even seen a picture of but has given us the GIFT OF LIFE.”

“Now, where do we even start with you [Aoife] you are a SAINT to us & we will FOREVER be GRATEFUL to you for the REST OF OUR LIVES. Baby Blake can’t wait for her Aunty Aoife to spoil her.”

Arthur also shared a sweet message in the comment section. Writing: “MY HEART IS FULL OF JOY ♥️ Blake welcome, we have been waiting for you our entire lives. And [Aoife] you have given us THE WORLD we will forever owe YOU. Merci”

Brian and Arthur will share their surrogacy journey with a brand new RTÉ documentary.

Documenting their journey to parenthood, the RTE special, called ‘A Very Modern Irish Family’ will show the highs and lows of welcoming a child into the world through surrogacy.
