Pierce Brosnan was plenty used to disguises during his time as James Bond, but it’s the Louth man’s latest role that has really left him unrecognisable.

Pierce will be starring as retired army officer Artie Crawford in The Last Rifleman. A role which required him to transform into the 92-year-old.

The film tells the real life story of Northern Irish veteran Artie’s, escape from his nursing home and jorney to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of the D-day landings back in 2014. For the part, Pierce has adopted what looks to be facial prosthetics and a grey toupee.

Sharing the snaps on their social medias, the restaurant wrote: “Not often that 007 pops by to pester your staff for a photo.”

He also visited the Ulster Aviation Society, and enjoyed the work of Australian Sculptor Ron Mueck at The Mac in Belfast.

Sharing his love for the city and his time working on The Last Rifleman, Pierce wrote on Instagram: “six glorious weeks in Belfast in the company of great film makers.”

“Thank ye one and all Dear Belfast enjoyed every days work.”
