Tommy Bowe has shared a snap of his painful looking scar following an operation on his knee – although at least he’s seeing the funny side!
The Ireland player suffered a big injury blow during the Rugby World Cup, leaving him out of action for up to six months. The winger sustained posterior cruciate ligament and meniscal injuries to his right knee during the champtionship’s quarter final against Argentina.
Tommy underwent knee surgery to repair the damage recently, but he isn’t expected to return to the pitch until May.
But, the good-humoured sports star posted a pic of the surgery results today, joking that it looked like an emoji face.
His fans were quick to send their support, with one writing: “Hope recovery will go well and we will see u back playing soon”, while another said, “Hope you have a speedy recovery. Ulster need you.”
Get well soon, Tommy!
